OCTAGON THEATRE

“SON OF FURY” A story that spans three continents and the seven seas is presented in “ Son of Fury,” which has commenced an extended season at the Octagon Theatre. The story is based on Edison Marshall's best-selling novel, “ Benjamin Blake,” and combines swashbuckling adventure, action on the high seas, romance in the South Seas, and realistic fights. The story opens in the early part of last century, and deals with the adventures of a nameless urchin who goes through life battling for his birthright. It is the history of a man who, starting life as a stable boy, becomes the ruler cf a South Seas island, and then leaves the island to claim his name. There is a strong cast, featuring Tyrone Power, as Benjamin Blake. Gene Tierney, a Tahitian beauty, George Sanders, Blake’s treacherous, conniving uncle, and Frances Farmer, a young English girl, while the part of the youthful Benjamin is ably taken by Roddy McDowall, who was recently seen in ” How Green Was My Valley ” and “ Confirm or Deny.” The film does not lack excitement and includes some stirring battle scenes. Bex plans are at the theatre and Begg's.
