MUNICH STUDENTS

A NUMBER EXECUTED (Rec. 8 p.m.) LONDON, Apl. 22. The Germans announced that the sentences were carried out in January against the principals of the Munich University plot against Herr Hitler. Five men and girls were executed and 12 men and girls were imprisoned for terms ranging from 18 months to 20 years.

A previous message stated that Gauleiter Earoy addressed the students at the Munich University and abusively attacked the girls for refusing to take up war work. He was greeted with catcalls. Leaflets later found in the university denounced Hitler as a murderer. Anti-Hitler slogans were painted on the walls of party buildings in the city. The leaflets filtered into towns and villages in central and North Germany and Bavaria. The Gestapo then pounced on a number of Munich students.
