(Special) CHRISTCHURCH, Mar.- 15. The horses from here disappointed in their racing at Trentliam, the only one to finish in the money being Dominate. < Owing to the death of Mr E. Hay, their owner, Palfrey and Langue d'Or did not race at Trentham. These two. with Pell Mell and Royal Writ, comprise the team which T. H. Gillett has in work, and they will be kept going, pending an announcement of the family plans with regard to the horses Edward, the Nightmarch gelding in S. Barr’s team, shaped well in a school over the pony hurdles. He looks a good prospect. Thoraide also had a turn. He is a bold jumper, but very difficult to control. He should be a capable hurdler when he settles down. D. Cotton has a new horse, a two-year-old black colt by Kinnoull from Mother Hubbard, the dam of Little Secret. He has been sent here by Mr C. Dawson, of Springston, who will race the colt in partnership with Cotton. ' M. Conza had arranged to send three of his team home to the North Island this week, the trio being Lady Midian, Lady Premier, and Lady Broiefort, but the plans have been changed. Their owner lives in Feilding, and Conza will keep them here for a few weeks longer, taking them north next month for the Feilding Easter meeting, where he may also race Rebel Lady. Gold Branch will have to miss her engagement at Oamaru, owing to a slight mishap, but she will be in work again soon. Mr J. M. Samson's Guarantee filly had been working freely.
