Mrs Holden Mirams has left for Christchurch, where she intends to take up her residence. Mrs Sholto Douglas, of Geraldine, is at present visiting Dunedin, and is a guest at the Grand Hotel. Miss Kitty Clark, who has been the guest of Miss Ogston, will leave by air to-day for Auckland. Mrs Wilfrid White, of the Levels, South Canterbury, will arrive to-day to visit her sister, Mrs Edgar Hazlett. Mrs A. A. Dobie, of Christchurch, who is visiting Dunedin, is at present the guest of Mrs R. W. Dick. Mrs James Hay, of Timaru, is the guest of Mrs W. F. Edmond, of " Mount Lodge.” Mrs L. D. C. Groves was n passenger for Christchurch by the express yesterday. Mrs Malcolm Bevan, of Christchurch, is the guest of Mrs Rawson, of Stuart street. Miss Muriel May has been elected president of the newly-formed Business and Professional Women’s Club in Invercargill. Misses C. and J. Lane have returned to Oamaru after a week-end visit to Dunedin to attend the Repertory Society’s production, “The Morning Star.” Mr and Mrs J. Sutherland Ross entertained members of the cast of “ The Morning Star ” and officials of the Repertory Society to a back-stage party after the final presentation of the play on Saturday night. After welcoming visitors from Christchurch, Mr J. A. Paterson, chairman of the Organising Committee, made the presentation of a book on behalf of the committee to the producer, Miss Kathleen Falconer, who expressed appreciation of the gift and thanked all those who had been associated with the production. Mrs Ross. In her capacity as chairman of the Comforts Committee of the Navy League, spoke of the value of the work of this committee, which was made possible by the support given by the public. She thanked the organisers and workers, and spoke in eulogistic terms of Miss Falconer.
