ALLEGED I.R.A. PLOT

SABOTAGE DURING RAIDS INCRIMINATING DOCUMENTS (Rec. 1.30 a.m.) BELFAST, Mar. 12. An I.R.A. plot to secure control of the electrical sirens so as to destroy the efficiency of the civil defence system and to dislocate important war work was revealed from captured LR.A. documents by the Attorneygeneral, Major J. C. Macdermot, in the Northern Ireland House of Commons. He added that the documents showed that a picked body of men armed with hand grenades and machine-guns were selected for work against the police and fire-fighting services during raids. Static water tanks and electrical supply systems would be destroyed, but it was suggested that the gas supply should not be touched so as not to cause undue hardship to the civil population.
