MAYFAIR THEATRE

A Noel Coward farce, " We Were Dancing," starring Norma Shearer and Melvvn Douglas, will head the new bill at the Mayfair Theatre to-day. .This is Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer’s partial adaptation of Coward’s stage hit, " To-night at 8.30, and it loses none of its sparkle or originality in transition to the screen. Miss Shearer is seen as a daughter of royalty, penniless but brave, and very much in love. The lucky man is Melvyn Douglas, also a scion of royalty decidedly down on his uppers. They marry, but fare badly, for their society friends prefer them single rather than as partners. Many, farcical situations arise during which they are divorced and finally re-united. Also to be shown is a sensational thriller, "The Man Who Returned to Life.” Box plans are at the D.I.C. and the theatre.
