RED CROSS NEEDS
(Rec 7 p.m,)' SYDNEY, Mar. 12. American Red Cross needs for the year in the South-west and South Pacific theatres of war will probably exceed 3,000,000 dollars (£935,700) though originally estimated at 500,000 dollars, said Mr Charles K. Gamble, commissioner for the organisation in these areas who has returned to Sydney after five months’ absence in America. It is expected that the personnel will reach 500 by the end of the year.
