The Central Fire Station answered two calls last night to minor outbreaks. At 8.25 p.m. brigades were sent to the Mackintosh Caley Phoenix factory in Maclaggan street, where slight damage was caused to a floor as the result of overheating. At 9.35 p.m. a call was received from the corner of Castle and Albany streets, where burning rubbish was threatening a timber yard. In both cases the outbreaks were extinguished with little difficulty.
