Mr C. J. Inder has been re-elected unopposed as a member of the Otago Land Board. Major A. P. McCormack, of Southern Military District headquarters, is on a visit to the local area. Lieutenant-colonel C. L. MeredithKaye, A.Q.M.S., Southern Military District, is at present visiting the local fortress area. Passengers who left for the north oy the airliner yesterday were Mr R. C. Burgess, Miss M. Tuck and Private S. C Shackleton for Christshurch, Miss K. Standage, Messrs J. J. Craig, I. Mandeno and E. J. Valentine for Wellington, Mr J. Fletcher and Mr and Mrs R. C. Cross for Auckland. Passengers who arrived by the afternoon plane were Miss E. A. Thompson from Auckland Sergeant Andrews, Mr and Mrs W Critchlev and Mrs M, Field from Wellington. Mrs L. Clarkson, Aircraftman R. M. Johnson, Messrs F. R. Merryman and H. Rodgers from Christchurch.
