TRENTHAM MEETING

(Special) WELLINGTON, Mar. 12. The fields for the one-day autumn meeting of the Wellington Racing Club are not so large as usual, and there appears to be a likelihood of only two starting in the North Island Challenge Stakes, while there will be another small field in the Autumn Handicap. The weather during the past day or two has been cold and changeable, and there was a fair amount of rain on the track during Thursday night, but prospects are for a fine day for the racing, and the track will now be in splendid order, though it may not be particularly fast.
