MEETING AT LAWRENCE
FORMATION OF BOARD OPPOSED A well-attended and representative meeting of farmers from the Lawrence, Tuapeka West, and Waitahuna districts was held at Lawrence on Tuesday night to elect a delegate to attend the conference in Dunedin. Mr J. R. Robertson, president of the Lawrence branch of the Farmers’ Union, occupied the chair. Mr Andrew Guthrie was appointed delegate. and the following motions were carried:— "That the delegate to the conference be instructed to oppose the formation of a rabbit board in the district." " That the appointed delegate be Instructed to advocate a levy on summer skins and its removal during the winter.’
