PROFESSOR COLERIDGE FARR

(P.A.) CHRISTCHURCH, Jam 27. The death has occurred of Professor Clinton Coleridge Farr, aged 77, a leading figure in the scientific life of New Zealand and Australia. Professor Farr, who was born in Adelaide, had a distinguished scientific career. Between 1898 and 1903 he carried out a magnetic survey of New Zealand. He was lecturer in physics and surveying at Canterbury College from 1903 to 1910, and professor of physics from the latter year until 1936. In 1922 he was awarded the Hector Medal. He was widely known for his numerous contributions to learned societies.
