TAILORS’ CHALKS

Supplies of tailors’ chalks were previously largely drawn from the United Kingdom, but difficulty has been experienced in obtaining them regularly. The Dunedin Manufacturers’ Association has been informed that supplies will now be available from Australia, and the secretary of the association, Mr'F. L. Hitchens, said yesterday that it was understood that the type of chalk concerned would not compete in any way with the types that were being produced in New Zealand. The New Zealand supply liaison officer in Sydney had advised the Ministry of Supply that an Australian firm was offering to supply these chalks to New Zealand.
