Mrs Ivo Carr left yesterday for a holiday In Central Otago. Mrs R. C. B. Greensiade left yesterday to spend the school vacation at Karitane. Miss Ruth M. Thompson will leave tomorrow to visit relatives in Tapanul. Lady Sargood will leave to-day to spend the Christmas season at Wanaka. Mrs Maurice Myers has returned from an extended visit to Hamilton. Mrs C. G. Wilson will leave to-day to visit Mrs Alex. Grigor, of Palmerston North. Mrs W. Laidlaw will leave to-morrow to spend a few weeks with her daughter, Mi's F. D, Bell, of Shag Valley. The Mayoress, Mrs A. H. Allen, gave a Christmas party at the Savoy on Tuesday afternoon to the British children who have been living in Dunedin since their arrival from England. The children spent a jolly time, and Mr Allen, who attended the function for a few minutes, brought them Christmas greetings. Dr Dorothy M. Stewart has been appointed assistant medical superintendent of the Ashburton Public Hospital. Dr Sttewart, who, comes from Wellington, qualified at Otago University and has returned recently from London. Scotland, ana Australia, where she studied medicine and obstetrics.
