JAPANESE BOMBERS

RAIDS ON CHITTAGONG AREA (Rec. 0.30 a.m.) RUGBY, Dec. 15. A joint communique from India states that on Tuesday morning two formations of Japanese bombers, escorted by fighters, made an attack on the Chittagong area. The damage caused was negligible, and there have been no reports of bombs falling in the town. The casualties are reported to have been extremely light. R.A.F. fighters intercepted the raiders and destroyed three of them, as well as damaging several others. None of our aircraft are missing. Shortly after dark yesterday a small number of enemy bombers made a further attack on the same area, but no damage or casualties have been reported.
