A TABLOID EXPLANATION
The position, in tabloid, regarding the stabilisation plan is that all wages, remunerations, etc., train, taxi, and tram fares, the prices of goods, and so on, are today stablised at the figure 1000. It will be the work of the commission which has been appointed tokeep prices, etc., at that figure, but there will be variations, at the discretion of the commission, in certain cases to allow fluctuating prices. If the figure of 1000 is advanced beyond a certain level then an increase in wages will be permitted to meet the increased cost of living. It will be the task of the commission so to control matters that the cost of living will not be increased. In other words, the commission’s task is to stabilise prices on the basis which obtains to-day.
