WAR SITUATION

NOT DISCUSSED BY HOUSE ADDRESSES BY CHIEFS OF STAFF (F.0.P.R.) WELLINGTON, Dec. 3. Contrary to expectations, the open, discussion on the war situation did not take place in the House of Representatives to-night. Soon after the resumption at 7.30 p.m. the House went into secret session, and this was still in progress at 1 a.m. The House met at 10.30 a.m.. whea formal business was taken and two Bills—the Agricultural Emergency Regulations Confirmation Bill and the Girl Guides’ Association (New Zealand Branch) Incorporation Bill—were put through all stages and passed. _ Members then adjourned to the social hall in Parliament Buildings, where they were addressed by the chiefs of staff. This meeting was continued in the afternoon.
