SUPPLIES OF BISCUITS

AVAILABLE FOR CIVILIANS (P.A.) AUCKLAND, Dec. 3. A limited quantity of biscuits will be available for local consumption between now and Christmas as the result of an unexpected alteration in military orders from overseas. This alteration. information of which was received only this week, has changed the situation described by the New Zealand Biscuit and Confectionery Manufacturers’ Association in a statement published on November 28. when it was said that as from December 1 the entire capacities of the principal biscuit manufacturing firms would be devoted to war priorities and that there would be nothing for sale to civilians.

■ Manufacturers stated to-day that it was difficult to say what quantities of biscuits would be available for domestic sale, but they would certainly be equal to what has been on the market in the past few months.
