BALCLUTHA Personal.—Squadron Leader P. J. Lucas, a son of Mr and Mrs C. F. Lucas, of Tuapeka Mouth, is home on leave from England. He arrived in Balclutha by plane on Tuesday afternoon, and was welcomed by the Mayor (Mr J. R. Copland) and Colonel Grigor. as well as by his parents and friends. Squadron Leader Lucas recently received a bar to his D.F.C., and has had a distinguished career in the Royal Air Force, which he joined in England some time. before the outbreak of war. He had the misfortune to lose his wife in England some time ago, and his little daughter arrived in New Zealand a month ago, and is now at the family home at Tuapeka Mouth.
