RAILWAY REVENUE
RECORD FIGURES FOR MAY (p.a.) Wellington; June 17. The Minister of Railways, Mr R. Semple, announced to-day that the revenue earned by the department during May totalled £1,051,313, an increase of £136,987 over the return for May of last year. This is the first time in the history of the department that the revenue has exceedea £1,000,000 in May. The net revenue for the 53 days of the present year is £406.651. exceeding that for the first 54 days of last year by £107,519.
