LIBERTY LOAN
FURTHER SUBSCRIPTIONS (P.A.) WELLINGTON, June 4. The Reserve Bank slates that since the announcement by the Prime Minister, Mr P. Fraser, that the Liberty Loan subscriptions totalled £17,131,610 last night, many hundreds of applications have been received direct through the mail and more are expected tomorrow. The total to-day was £17,445,040. made up as follows:—•
2i per cent. Stock, 1947 .. 6,247,190 3 per cent. Stock, 1952-55 ~ 10,991,200 Liberty Bonds 206,650 It is reasonable to anticipate, therefore, that the loan will be over-sub-scribed to the.extent of approximately £2,500,000.
v At a meeting of the committee of the St. Clair Beach Improvement Association on Tuesday night it was unanimously decided to invest £250 in fiveyear bonds of the Liberty Loan.
