CRIPPLE’S DEATH FROM BURNS (P.A.) WHANGAREI, May 13. Extensive burns to the face and body were suffered this morning by Mrs Josephine Hershaw, aged 72, a widow, of Pipiwai, and she died while being admitted to hospital. The deceased, who had been a cripple for 19 years, was given a cigarette oy her daughter, who then .went to the milking shed. The daughter on returning found the room filled with smoke and her mother seriously burned. FALL FROM A TREE, Mr Arthur Brown, of Norwood street, North-East Valley, was admitted to the Public Hospital at 2.15 p.m. yesterday, suffering from injuries received when he fell .from a tree. SHIP’S FIREMAN INJURED Mr W. Rothman, a ship’s fireman, was admitted to the Public Hospital at 8.15 p.m. yesterday suffering from head injuries received when ne fell down a companion-way.
