STATEMENT IN PARLIAMENT RUGBY, May 12. The armed forces of the British Empire have lost 48,973 killed, comprising 6296 officers and 42,677 other ranks, from the outbreak of war to October 2, 1941. The Deputy Prime Minister, Mr C. R. Attlee, gave these figures in the House of Commons to-day as part of the complete list, which is as follows: Killed, 43,973; wounded, 46,363; prisoners of war, 58,458; missing, 29,856. Officers killed, 6296; wounded, 4064; prisoners of war, 3374; missing, 953. Other ranks: Killed, 42,677; wounded, 42,299; prisoners of war, 55,084; missing, 28,803. All ranks, total casualties, 183,550.
