AWAKE, NEW ZEALAND A CALL TO ALL Each day sees the war come closer to our shores and now we are unmistakably faced with the prospect of an invasion. This country must, therefore, Immediately unite to a man to marshal our strength to the utmost. Major Melrose sounded the " Clarion Call ” and as a result many thousands of people have banded themselves together to Awaken this country to a sense of its danger, to the need for the sacrifice by all, and to see that offensive weapons are manufactured to the limit by the full utilisation of all untapped resources. From the North Cape to the Bluff came messages of good will and offers of assistance, and the movement has grown to such an extent that at a representative meeting held recently in Hamilton, it was decided to launch a Nation-wide campaign. Our brave soldiers are fighting abroad, and alongside our Territorial Army we at home must demonstrate that we are worthy custodians of this fair British Country. No considerations other than those of national safety can animate us, and this Campaign without seeking to lead and with a full sense of responsibility asks all bodies, organisations and persons actively to support and participate in this movement to the end that all New Zealanders with God s all powerful help will work and sacrifice as one and in complete Christian unity stand foursquare, spiritually and physically ready to ward off this real and terrible danger. Awake. New Zealand—together we fight —God defend New Zealand. We sincerely ask and will gladly welcome everybody’s assistance. Inserted by the Dominion Provisional Committee. “Awake. New Zealand Campaign,” Caledonia Building. Box 409, Hamilton.—l.
