STILL NO TRACE
MISSING AIRLINER WIDESPREAD SEARCH (PA.) WELLINGTON, May 10. The widespread search for the missing plane was continued throughout the week-end by land parties and planes working from both the Nelson and Blenheim sides of the area in which it is thought the machine may have been forced down. The weather improved yesterday and to-day, but the hilltops remained shrouded in mist, and as a result the planes engaged in the search have as yet been unable to cover the whole area. "The search will be continued," stated an official of Union Airways, "until all hope for the survival of the occupants is abandoned The Lockheeds carry a full first aid kit and also some water, but they do not carry fresh or iron rations, as the distances involved in the services are short." A conference was held in Nelson tonight between the parties concerned in the search, and plans for its continuation to-morrow were worked out.
