AMERICA’S NEW PLANE

SURPRISE FOR THE ENEMY (Rec. 7 p.m.) BUFFALO, May 7. The Curtiss Wright Corporation has demonstrated to the press the latest American plane, the Warhawk Fighter. Air force officials say the new plane will be a surprise for the enemy and therefore most of its details cannot be revealed, but they permit the disclosure that it is the first American* plane using the British-designed Rolls Royce Merlin engine, and is also faster than all its P4O predecessors, belonging to the 400 miles class. It further possesses unusually heavy striking power and is’ a definite answer to the enemy’s latest planes.
