SOUTHLANDER’S SUCCESS

Lance-corporal George Muir, of Southland, a member of the Forestry Unit, and a fortaer New Zealand and Australian middle-weight champion, is now a heavy-weight, and has won nine fights in succession, eight by knockouts and the ninth on points from the 19-stone George Davies, knocking him down three times for a count of nine. Davies once fought six rounds with Camera. Muir weighs 13st 61b.
