WOMEN FOR SERVICE

TWENTY AND TWENTY-ONE YEARS FIRST INTERVIEWS ON MONDAY Women who have attained the ago of 20 years, but are not yet 22 years of age, and have been required to register under the National Service regulations, will be interviewed by the Women's War Service Auxiliary staff, with some voluntary helpers, prior to their direction into essential industries. The first draft will appear before the interviewers between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. and between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Monday next. The district man-power officer, Mr A. J. Haub, said yesterday that about 2000 women had registered in the Dunedin area, but it was obvious that many women in these age groups had failed to register. Mr Haub said that women who had not fulfilled their obligation to register were liable to heavy penalties. They should do so without delay. He added that about 50 notices to report for in lerview at the office of the War Service Auxiliary (on the first floor of the Express Company's building) would be sent out each day. Each interview would take about 10 minutes. The office would be open for interviews from Monday to Friday of eacli week. Afternoon and night interviews had been decided upon. Mr Haub said, because the majority of the women to be interviewed were in employment.
