TOLL OF ENEMY PLANES

BRITISH NAVAL FORCES RUGBY, Feb. 4. The First Lord of the Admiralty, Mr A. V. Alexander, stated in the House of Commons that from the beginning of the war up to the end of last year 642 enemy aircraft had been destroyed by British warships or merchant vessels' or by the Fleet Air Arm, while 240 had been probably destroyed and 430 damaged. His Majesty's ships destroyed 405, probably destroyed 176, and damaged 39. For merchant vessels the figures were 94, 42, and 96, and for the Fleet Air Arm 143, 22, and 95.
