SIR STAFFORD CRIPPS
MINISTRY OF SUPPLY POST REPORTED .TO HAVE DECLINED (Rec. 0.55 a.m.) LONDON, Feb 5, According to the Daily Herald, Sir Stafford Cripps was offered the post of Minister of Supply, but declined because Mr Churchill was unable to concede the guarantees he sought. A previous message stated that Sir Stafford Cripps had agreed to go to the Ministry of Tupply only on condition that he was given adequate personal authority over all departments and operations.
