“ALADDIN ”

There are no fewer than 23 magnificent scenes In J. C Williamson’s pantomime "Aladdin," which Is to be staged at His Majesty’s Theatre for a brief season, beginning on Thursday night next. Matinees will be presented on the following Friday and Saturday. Edwards, who, as the Widow Twankey, scored an outstandings success In Auckland and Wellington.' Miss Doris Whimp is said to be a dashing young actress and Auckland critics described her as the ,most vivacious “ principal boy ” enjoyed In pantomime for many years. The dancing by the young Chinese artist, Lawrie Long, everywhere creates a sensation, and the clever features presented by Messrs Ronnie Shand, Joe Valll, and George Corelli materially assist to make the pantomime a remarkably successful 'production.; The singing and'artistry of the Misses Esme Levante and Ursula Irving are greatly appreciated by audiences, and the brilliant toe dancing of Gwen Pike and Glen Balsley revives memories of the Russian ballerinas. The box plans will be opened at the D.I.C. on Monday morning next at 9 o’clock.
