PLUNKET SOCIETY
MIDDLEMARCH BRANCH At the first meeting for the year of the Middlemarch branch of the Plunket Society the nurse's report showed that there were 24 babies in the list for the quarter ended December, and that the general health of all the babies was good. A relieving nurse would be on duty for the next few weeks while the present nurse was on holiday. ■■■■■", It was decided to hold the annual meeting on April 9, and the committee hopes that there will be a good attendance, as all the interest possible is needed for the carrying on of the Plunket work. The committee is undertaking the catering at stock sales again this year, and any donations of bread, butter, or meat for sandwiches will be very acceptable. OBITUARY Mrs J. Williams, whose death occurred suddenly at Timaru on Monday, will be remembered by a wide circle of friends and acquaintances as an indefatigable worker who was always "willing to give, her services whenever called upon to do so. She was a mem? ber of the executive of the Otago Women's Club, and president of the Bridge Circle, and also a committee member of the Gardening Circle and a judge at the annual competition for the best railway station garden. She was an active member of the committee of the Plunket Society, and in this connection will be remembered for the splendid work she did as convener of the " Daffodil Day " street appeal. Her husband was, until a few years ago, in charge of the Rectory at the Otago Boys' High School, and while Mrs Williams was living at the Rectory her kindness and understanding won her the loyal support and friendship of the boys. One who has given her services so unsparingly on all 'occasions will be greatly missed, and it is with sincere regret that her death is recorded.
