Townsend, senior surveyor of ships, senior inspector, of machinery, and senior examiner of marine engineers, at Auckland, has retired from the Marine Department. \
Mr C B. Rout, district manager at invercargill of the Perpetual Trustees and Agency Co., Ltd. for many years past, has intimated that he wishes.to be relieved of his "duties. Mr D.;R. Anderson, of the company's Dunedin staff, has been appointed to succeed him as manager end will take up his duties on Monday. *f l The ,Rev.
