HONGKONG PRISONERS
TREATMENT BY JAPANESE CROWDED INTO HOTELS (Rec; 7 p.m.) CHUNGKING. Feb. 3. The official radio said that Mrs Liang Hon-tsao, wife of a Chinese public official, who escaped from Hongkong disguised as a servant girl on January 15, said that after Hongkong's fal| the British- and American subjects were -crowded into three hotels, as many as 10 persons to a single room. Visitors were not allowed except on the gendarmes' permits. All property, including food and automobiles, were confiscated On January 15 the water service was restored, but electricity and telephones were not restored. She said that after the fall of Hongkong 800,000 bottles of whisky were destroyed. The " scorched earth" methods were carried out at the suggestion of the women.
