GOLD, BUT IMPROVING Forecast for Otago.—The following official weather forecast for Otago for the ensuing 24 hours was issued at 5 p.m. yesterday by the Meteorological Office in Wellington:— Fresh to strong south-westerly to southerly winds; weather cold and changeable, with passing showers. Further Outlook.—lmproving slowly, but still cold. Weather in Duhedin.—Dull, mild wea-ther,-with occasional showers of light rain;/prevailed in Dunedin yesterday. The wind f was from the south-west. The maximum temperature was 62 degrees and the barometer rose slightly during the day, the midnight reading being 29.60 inches (1003 millibars).
