WAR WEAPONS WEEK
DUNEDIN TO RAISE £IO,OOO ?■ The official organiser, Mr A. Thomas, advises that arrangements are well in hand for next week's effort to raise £IO,OOO for war weapons. It is confidently expected that those who have opened a national savings account will "double-up" their deposits. The local committee points out that in making deposits to their national savings accounts, depositors are not only making a good investment (the interest is 3 per cent.) but are also performing a necessary patriotic duty. The widow's mite, the labourer's shilling, the business man's pound, all represent equal sacrifice, and will be greatly needed next week if Dunedin is to raise its quota of £IO,OOO. The war weapons effort is one inwhich every man, woman and child can participate. Mr Thomas stresses the fact that his committee is working with a "Churchill" spirit and is confident that Dunedin will maintain its reputation of meeting its war obligations. : ' .- ,■
