Admiral van Keuren told the Senate Appropriations Committee to-day that 944,000,000 dollars of the record Naval Appropriation was earmarked for. thp repair of British warships formerly covered by the Lend-Lease Act. Admiral van Keuren said, that the repair of the ships was the most appreciated act the United States had performed for Britain. The. Navy had found that it could supply British repair needs without the dislocation of its own, programme.
