Military Losses. —The military losses in the present war up to date have been far less than those for the corresponding period of the last World War. According to the statisticians of the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company of New York, from the beginning of the present conflict until the end of 1941 the deaths in the armed forces of all belligerents are estimated at 1,750.000 to 2,000,000 compared with 5,000,000 dead for the period of July, 1914 to July. 1916.
