I.R.A. EXTREMISTS
ALLEGED CONSPIRACY NAZI AGENTS ALLOWED IN REVELATIONS IN DAIL (Rcc. 11.30 p.m.) LONDON. Jan. 29. The extremists of the I.R.A. and other organisations are still trying to bring Germans to Eire and are in constant communication with the Axis. This was revealed in the Dail in a debate on the emergency powers of the Military Court. The Prime Minister, Mr de Valera, revealed that the I.R.A. had declared war on Britain. Another group, while keeping within the constitution, were trying to bring in " other people,"' he said. If definite evidence were obtained treason trials would be initiated.
The Minister of Justice. Mr G. Boland, referring to the 1.R.A., said that a document which the police captured last month threatened that anyone helping the " enemy" would be shot. Mr J. M. Dillon, Deputy Leader of the Opposition, declared that the Government had not disclosed to the Dail the true nature of this conspiracy. Nazi agents had been dropped in Eire by parachute. They had been arrested and were now in custody. These agents were well known to be in active collaboration with the I.R.A. One of them, Herr Goertz, who had been landed by parachute, was in close contact with the I.R.A. for nine months before he was arrested. The I.R.A. had availed themselves of the support l ' of a foreign regime whose agents were using the I.R.A. for the conquest of this part by well-known technique. Mr Dillon concluded: "The I.R.A. and other bodies are willing to play the part of Quislings. The gun bullies of the I.R.A. are drafting with these agents documents designed to do away with our elected Government. These murderers, saboteurs perjurers and agents' provocateurs must be get rid of."
