(Rec. 7 p.m.) CANBERRA, Jan. 29. The new National Security Regulations places a temporary ban on the commencement of work on dwelling houses within 25 miles of the Sydney and Melbourne General Post Offices, and reduces the amount which may be spent on any dwelling in other areas without special authority from £3OOO to £2OOO.
Further regulations provide that, without the Treasurer's consent, a person or company shall not borrow under a mortgage more than £ISOO a year, and a company must not in future increase its deposits by more than £ISOO. The restriction does not apply to banks.
