BURNS CONCERT IN CAMP

The Scottish Battalion now in camp celebrated the anniversary of the birth of Robert Burns with a concert. An entertainment organised at the camp proved to be of outstanding merit, and the large attendance of members of the regiment thoroughly enjoyed it. An interesting address on " Burns, His Lite and Works," was delivered by Major E J. Anderson. Another visiting officer who contributed to the evening's enjoyment was Lieutenant A. Walmsley. The haggis was pipsd in. escorted by the kilted officers of D Support Company, Burns's "Address to the Haggis" being delivered by LieutenantC. Hart. Colonel Swan presided, and the padre (Captain H. O. Bowman), at the conclusion of the entertainment, thanked all those who had helped to provide what had been a memorable celebration.

Those who contributed to the programme were Colonel G. Swan, Lieutenant A. Walmsley. Second-lieutenant G. McPate, Sergeant-major R. F. McDonald, Private H. McConnell (songs). Lieutenant C. Hart, Corporal W. Weir (recitations), and Corporal C. J. McLean (Highland fling and sword dance). The Pipe Band contributed selections.
