CHARGE OF THEFT
In the City Police Court, before Mr H. W. Bundle, S.M., yesterday morning a single woman, aged 24 years, was charged with stealing at Dunedin on January 24 a pair of shoes valued at £1 10s, the property of Edith Elizabeth Knowles.—Detective Sergeant T. Y. Hall said that the accused had stolen the shoes with considerable cunning. It appeared that she was not amenable to discipline.—After hearing a report from Captain Dickinson, and a plea by the girl's mother, the magistrate adjourned the case for a month on condition that she remained in the " ' m Army Home during the period.
