THE ALL-PURPOSES APPEAL
TO THE EDITOR - Sir —I have read with some slight interest the footnote by the Mayor to my recent letter in this connection. I wonder why Mr Allen says: '"John Bill' can rest assured that the Otago Provincial Patriotic Council is working whole-heartedly in the interests (as far as possible) of every member of the fighting forces, and that it has nothing to hide in its administration I do not question the authenticity ot that statement. At the same time, 1 would remind his Worship and your readers that my questions have not yet been answered. Why?—l am, etc. Dunedin, January 27. John Bill.
