THE HOME GUARD

TO THE EDITOR Sir,—l deprecate the fact that my letter was construed as an attack upon the men and officers of the Home Guard. It was an attempt to bring to public notice the defects which exist as the effect of maladministration from above. The fact that it is only now, after over two years of war, that the Home Guard service is being issued with the necessary equipment is proof that the role of the Guard has not been fully appreciated. " Home Guardsman" seems to consider that grouching will rectify matters, whereas my opinion is that by drawing public attention to the inefficiencies better results might ensue.—l am, etc., Dundin, January 26. D. G. Brown.
