FAR EAST FRONTS LITTLE CHANGE ON LAND (Rec. 1.30 a.m.) LONDON, Jan. 28. Singapore and Batavia communiques report that there has been very little change in the land front. A Singapore message states that contact was maintained with the enemy in the East Coast areas. There have been no further Japanese landings at Endau. On the central front no changes are reported, but there has been enemy activity day and night. On the western front vefy heavy fighting is reported to be proceeding. Singapore Island has been bombed three times, but the casualties were few and the damage small. IN ACTION AGAIN FLYING FORTRESSES (Rec. 1.30 a.m. LONDON, Jan, 28. General Sir Archibald Wavell's headquarters reports that American Flying Fortresses were again in action and sank one Japanese transport, while a Japanese cruiser was straddled with bombs. Japanese planes which attempted to intercept our aircraft were roughly handled.
