AUSTRALIA WARNED
" PREPARE FOR BAD NEWS " (Rec. 0.5 a.m.) PERTH, Jan. 28. In a speech at a civic reception in Fremantle to-day, the Prime Minister, Mr J. Curtin. warned the nation to prepare for bad news, but he mentioned no particular theatre of war. He was quite sure that Australians would be able to experience with stoic endurance news of a reverse here or a defeat there, which was vastly different from losing the war.
