TO PRESERVE PLUMS

This is an economical way of preserving plums. Fill the preserving jars with clean, dry fruit. Place them in the oven till the juice of the top plums starts to come out of the fruit. Take the jars out of the oven, and fill them to about a quarter of an inch from the top with boiling water; pour over the melted paraffin wax and screw down with or without rubber rings. When required for use, dissolve half a cup or one cup of sugar in some of the juice and pour over the plums.
