TRIANGULAR FRONT

BATTLEGROUND IN LIBYA CONSIDERABLE EXTENSION ENEMY AIR FORCE INCREASED (Rec. 10 p.m.) LONDON, Jan. 25. The Air Ministry says that five Hurricanes intercepted 30 Axis planes attacking British units 15 miles from Msus. They quickly broke up the Axis formation. Reference to Msus, 48 miles north-east of Antelat, and to Maarten Algrara, 45 miles to the east of Jedabaya. reveals that the original triangular' battleground between Jedabaya. Antelat and Saunnu, has now approximately doubled in size, although the fighting has not assumed the same proportions as that in the vicinity of Sidi Rezegh. The present fighting, news of which is very scanty, is not a set battle. Rather it is a contest between the opposing columns jockeying for positions. The enemy is now receiving fairly substantial air support. The weather continues bad throughout the area of operations. The Axis Air Force is. using sandy seacoast aerodromes and probably in consequence is less affected by the boggy ground than the Allies.
