CLYDE Women’s War Services Auxiliary.—With the object of forming a branch of the Women’s War Services Auxiliary, Mesdames Seymour and Paine, of the Dunedin branch, met a number of women in the Town Hall on Monday night, and explained the duties to be carried out. A branch was formed with Mrs Annan as chairman. Mrs Harlow as vice-chairman, Mrs I. D. Wilson as secretary, and a committee composed of Mesdagies H. E. Stevens, sen., J. L. Davidson, W. K. George, C. J. Hanning, M. R. Hanning, Misses Stringer. Holmes, and Wilson. Croquet.—The match between Clyde and Alexandra Croquet Clubs, ended in a draw, Clyde winning both Doubles and one Single, and Alexandra the other three Singles. Lawn Tennis.—The tournament postponed from the previous Saturday through rain was played on Saturday. There was a splendid entry, 50 players taking part. The winners were Misses Benzoni and J. Stephens, with Misses Ferry and Campbell runners-up. •' The Weather.—The weather over the week-end was very hot. with a northwester on Monday. Rain commenced early on Tuesday morning and light to heavy showers continued throughout the day, with snow on the ranges.

OMAKAU Welcome Rainfall.—After a lengthy dry spell a welcome fall of over 60 points of rain was experienced on Tuesday. There was a decided drop in the temperature, and the ranges received a heavy coating of snow. ■ Personal.—Mr D. K. Holden, of the local postal staff, left on Tuesday for Walpahi, where he has been transferred. Bowling.—A rink from the Omakau Club took part in the tournament at Bannockburn on Saturday, and succeeded in reaching the semi-finals. Owing to the latest restrictions on petrol all centre matches have been cancelled. Vincent Jockpy Club.—At a meeting of the Management Committee of the Vincent Jockey Club it was decided to cancel the annual race meeting set down for January.
