"SKIPPER" FRANCIS RECITAL

" Skipper" Francis, channel swimmer, composer, and entertainer, gave pleasure to an enthusiastic audience of afflicted persons in the Crawford Lounge yesterday afternoon. Assisted by Mrs Francis at the piano, " Skipper" gave a two-hour recital of popular songs, including a number which he had written himself, and the entertainment was much appreciated. Mr Francis explained that the object of the recital, to which admission was free, was to promote goodfellowship among people, and a very cordial spirit was certainly engendered among the audience. Mr Francis interspersed his vocal numbers with recitations and banjo items, and maintained interest by references to his travels.
